AE UMa - Small Amplitude Light Curve Comparison - Blazkho or Double Mode?

Hello, everybody!

Playing a little bit with the data of AE UMa, I found interesting to share with all of you a comparison light curve of this star’s small amplitude observations of the past couple of months.

Question: differences are due to Blazkho effect or double mode (or maybe both)?

Cheers!

AE UMa is apparently a double mode pulsator according to the literature.

I don’t know of any SXPHE star with Blazhko effect, this happens in RR Lyrae stars.
Yes, AE UMa it is a double-mode SXPHE.

I worked on AE UMa many years ago and it is definitely a double-mode SX Phe star. The period ratio between the two primary periods is right inline with the Petersen diagram that predicts the relation between the fundamental pulsation and the overtones. I don’t remember if the 2nd overtone is present or not. The difference in the heights of the pulsation cycles is then just a beat frequency.
