Just today I was trying to upload some TG filter images to VPhot and have run into trouble. If I use the Quick Upload option the upload proceeds normally, with the images appearing in the server queue and eventually being processed, but the images never show up in my Images list. Something has apparently rejected them but I don’t know why.
If I use the Upload Wizard I can get the files to upload, but the problem here is that VPhot changes the filter type to ‘V’ during the process - here is what the wizard shows after it checks the single test file that I submit:
There are many choices in the filter pull down list but the tri-color filters are not among them. If I proceed the files upload and appear in my Images folder but all have been changed to ‘V’ filter images.
The problem with the wizard changing the filter type is one I’ve seen for a while but I used to be able to use the Quick Upload for debayered files without a problem.
Yes, it does look like you can edit the filter type after submitting an observation (I just tried it to see). And if you report by generating a text file you could edit the file before submitting - if you have a lot of observations this would be a lot easier than editing afterwards.
I think the best solution would be to have VPhot (in particular the upload wizard) recognize that TG, TR, and TB are valid filter types and just upload such files that way rather than changing the FILTER attribute in the header to V.
If you are going to debayer the images yourself then you must remove the BAYERPAT field from the header or set it to NA. A debayered image should no longer have a BAYERPAT. If VPhot sees that field set it will attempt to debayer the file itself and chaos ensues and the file gets rejected.
VPhot is able to debayer the Seestar Light and the Stacked images. A single Stacked image results in 3 images in your image list.
VPhot understands that TG is to be referenced to V; there is no need to force a filter name change.
No need to use the upload wizard: its not that smart anyway!
