I have been unable to download charts, I’ve been trying for several hours but the same ‘internal error’ and ‘bad gateway’ messages, or ‘Oops! Looks like something went wrong on this page. AAVSO staff has been notified of the problem’.

It seems I can download certain charts for well observed stars, but I can’t for other less observed ones. For example, CG Gem, GR Cnc, PT Cas, KP Aur.

It is very likely that the problem is related with the VizieR server having problems.
This has been happening a lot over the last 3 or 4 days and right now I can’t even reach VizieR for any normal search.
VSP uses the ATLAS-REFCAT2 catalogue hosted in VizieR to display charts for stars fainter than 12th mag. That’s why you are probably not having issues with brighter stars: we host a local copy of the bright stars so they do not depend on VizieR being available or not.
Let’s hope the VizieR folks will solve their technical issues. The connecion comes and goes…
