We’ve undergone several technology changes with AAVSOnet, and now it is time to get rid of some of the older equipment. I will be going to NEAF/NEAIC, and can bring any purchased items there and give them to you in person. I’ll also be going to SAS in June. Otherwise, you will have to pay for shipping.
Everything advertised below has been checked out and is in working condition. All proceeds will go into the AAVSOnet Fund to be used for future repairs and replacements, so consider the price as a partial donation to the cause. If you are interested in any of the items below, contact me directly (ahenden@gmail.com) for more details as to specs, payment or photos.
SBIG ST7XME camera + CFW8 filter wheel $300
SBIG ST8XME camera + CFW10 filter wheel $400
SBIG ST10XME camera + CFW10 filter wheel $500
SBIG ST7E camera + DSS-7 spectrograph $500
The SBIG cameras are a good way to get into digital photometry and give perfectly adequate results.
Apogee CG16m camera (unused) $4000
Apogee AFW50-7S filter wheel (7x50mm square) $400
ZWO ASI 183mm-pro camera $500
Takahashi FS-60CB refractor + field flattener+Moonlite electronic focuser. This was the original BSM telescope. $800
AstroTech AT-65EDQ refractor $400
Celestron Omni XLT-150 refractor $300
The XLT-150 is a 6" f/5 doublet and so not a great visual telescope. However, it gives good images with typical Johnson/Cousins filters. We used a pair of these for testing during the early days of APASS with good results.
Notes: The SBIG and Apogee cameras have 9micron pixels (6.4micron for the ST10), 16bitADC and real shutters, all nice to have with longer focal length telescopes. They are supported by MaximDL.
There will be more items available after NEAF.
