Sorry, what does MID means in ephemeris of pulsators? Time of max?
Can you provide more context? Where did you find that?
Cheers,
Sebastian
Hi Sebastian, I meant Ephemeris window in VSX. I guess, MID = Time of Maximum in this case, but as you know, I firstly write and then think, so sorry again.
Ahhh I see now.
MID means “middle”. For eclipsing binaries, you have start, mid, and end of the eclipse. “Mid” is the mideclipse. For pulsators, only “mid” is left, which is the center of the maximum.
Cheers,
Sebastian
Thank you, Sebastian! Is there a sense to change MID to MAX for pulsators ephemeris? Or it is traditional designation?
Not a convention, just how it is shown in VSX to accomodate all cases (eclipsers and pulsators). If there is a change, it will probably have to happen when we re-write the application.
