Kohab = NSV 26846

I did not find VSP subcategory, so the question is addressed to VSX.

Kohab unexpectedly is marked as NSV 26846 on the VSP chart, but this name is not presented neither in VSX nor in GCVS. Is it database error or something historical?

Running a few charts with different scales for this area one will find the bright star is NSV 6846 and the magnitude is 21. On the image you attached there is a chart label overlay issue.

p.s. Actually, I was unable to reproduced what you showed in your image… The AB scale had a little overtyping but I could still figure it out.

Thank you for the explanation, Jim! Indeed, Kohab = NSV 6846, has UID and even one observation :slight_smile: The arabian name is not presented in VSX, and I did not guess to use other one :frowning:
BTW, chart ID is X40467BCO.

Now it is bet UMi in VSX, since it is confirmed to be variable (although only to the 0.001 mag. level, so no observations from the ground are encouraged) in TESS data.

BTW, its name is not Kohab but Kochab.

Cheers,
Sebastian
