Comparison of Johnson V and Sloan G

As part of quality control I always compare my obs with similar systems if possible. I observed EH Cas in V filter and my photometry was very different from almost coincident SG measurements.
Mine, transformed Johnson V 9.931, error 0.020
Other, SG filter which I believe is Sloan green gave 11.019 error, 0.0028.
I’m pleased to say that I usually get a pretty good match with others so this was a surprise, or maybe they are very different. Any advice please.
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Your results are okay.
This star is very red.
If you go to its VSX entry, you will find that B-V is around 2.5.
In the Catalog Data section, you can find mean APASS magnitudes that go like this:

B = 12.55; V = 10.09; g = 11.37

V will only be similar to g in the case of blue stars, otherwise it will be brighter.

Cheers,
Sebastian

Thanks Sebastian.
