Comp stars for Sloan filters

I was just wondering you do we contact to get comp stars assigned for Sloan filters or do we select our own comp stars. I want to do some follow-up observations for V4371_Oph using sloan filters. Thanks,

I’d recommend reaching out to the sequence team. I don’t know whether they handle Sloan magnitudes, but even if not, they should be able to tell you who to contact, or share advice on how to select your own comp stars.

I believe this is their email address: compstars@aavso.org

You could also submit a report for V4371 Oph using the CHET tool:

(Probably best to read these pages first: Chet Help, New Sequence Help)

Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hi Mike, I know I’ve communicated with you personally on this but for the benefit of others, the sequence team can output data to the comp.star database that includes Sloan g, r and i - at least for stars that are not too bright (Tycho for instance). In fact this may well become the default format eventually, especially when collaborating or working for professionals.
