Available variable star photometry programs

In the 21st century I have used AIP4WIN photometry to make variable star estimates against comparison stars with my SBIG/CCDops camera. AIP4WIN has given me trouble here in past months. Is there another good, economical photometry program that I can use with CCDops variable star images? Thanks, Gary Fugman FMG

Hi Gary,

have you tried Vphot, being a web app doesn’t require local installation which is quite practical

https://apps.aavso.org/vphot/

You must be logged on the AAVSO website to access it

I’ve been using Tycho Tracker lately and have been quite happy with it.

Hi Gary

Have a look at Phoranso. Josch Hambsch, a renowned Belgian variable star observer, is one of the most prolific users of Phoranso. As many of us know, Josch consistently pushes the boundaries of astronomical research, and he relies on Phoranso to process massive datasets with precision and efficiency.

In one of his most recent projects, Josch analyzed nearly 1,000 FITS files, each containing over 1,000 variable stars. The result? Phoranso processed nearly 1,000,000 observations in a single run — an extraordinary feat that showcases the unparalleled capabilities of this software.
