VPOT says must be logged in

I cannot reach VPHOT. When I click on “Click here to log into VPOT” I get the message that I must be logged in and have an obs code to use even though I am already logged in. I have logged out and logged in again but still get the same message.

Barbara:

There is an unclear issue between VPhot and the new AAVSO log-in BUT IF you go back to the top of the AAVSO page, log out and log back in, then go to 'Tools and Observer Resources > VPhot > Click here to log into vphot, you should get to your Image List?

Try it and report.

Hello Ken:

I have the same issue with hte VPhot login as Barbara, but it has not been an obstacle to access the image listings.

Last night, after working with the list for some time, a prompt suddenly jumped up on my screen requiring me to write my VPhot user name and password. It didn´t work, so I did as you instructed, went into the AAVSP home page, did my AAVSO log-in,went to Tools and Observers Resources, VPhot, “Click here to Log into VPhot”, and this took me back into my image list.

I mention this in case it can be of some assistance to others. I think tha AAVSO has made a great leap forward in the the dynamics of its Forums webpage outlay, but there are some wrinkles in the website than will need to be ironed out.

That worked for me. I had to log out and in several times for it to work.

When you get thrown out of VPhot because of the one hour timeout you need to login via the website VPhot launch page: VPhot

The login in the page you are shown on timeout is a deprecated portal and you do not have the credentials to use it. So, use the front door.

I’ll work on making this easier to negotiate.

Thanks George! It’s distracting, so if this gets fixed, it would be nice.
