View here: Details for RW Aur monitoring requested
Abstract: Dr. Hans Moritz Guenther (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has requested AAVSO observers’ assistance with the classical T Tauri star RW Aur (component A).
Justification: RW Aur A is a classical T Tauri star surrounded by an accretion disk. In fall 2014, RW Aur A became dimmer by about 3 mag in V band, likely due to RW Aur B passing by the disk of RW Aur A and pulling mass out of the disk into a stream or cloud that now covers part of the light from RW Aur A. This presents an opportunity to measure the composition of this stream.
