Celestron Origin for eclipsing binaries

Hi all,
I’m purchasing a Celestron Origin, and being personally interested in eclipsing binaries study, I would like to know if it’s usable to determine with good precision the time of minimum of such variables. My doubts arise from the fact that this smart telescope has a color sensor (I’m only interested in finding time of minimum, to verify with the ephemeris).
Thank you and Merry Christmas

I don’t know all the details of the Origin but I suspect it will be fine for variable star work. A number of people are getting useful data for ZWO’s SeeStar smart scope. The color sensor is not a problem.

Search the forum for SeeStar to see the discussions. You should also look at the AAVSO manual for DSLR cameras which have a color sensor.

Thanks for your advice, I will carefully look at the documentation you reported to me.
