Apparently, the new Discourse system to manage forum posts has all of us starting with limited privileges that increase with “likes”, “posts” and the such. In that vein, here’s a post:
Has anyone else found that the desktop version EXOTIC stopped working a few months ago?
The silver lining for me, as a result I have started using AstroImageJ for exoplanet transit analyses. I highly recommend the excellent Practical Guide that Dennis Conti prepared and the AIJ manual.

Hi George,
Yes. There is some “gamification” involved in the forums. It can make things more fun. I’ll help you along.
I’ve used AstroIMageJ for image processing, and I find it works really well. I haven’t done any exoplanet observing yet, but it is on my list, and I’ll take the Choice Course at some point.

Hi George,
I can’t speak for a few months ago but I started using Exotic a couple of weeks ago for participating to Exoplanet watch and on my mac is working fine.
Quite probably could be something related to the Python virtual environment.
If you are interested you could join the Exoplanet watch slack, people there are very helpful

I suspect something with the Python environment too. Thanks for the suggestion to join in the Slack conversation.
Thanks, Andrew.
I highly recommend the CHOICE courses. I took the variable star class last year and learned a lot. I am looking forward to the Exoplanet course that should be held next year.
