Wolf Rayet 124 or QR Sge

Mi first attempt on this rare WR star and try to define the emission lines.

I have been reading about this WR star. I know the continuum should raise towards the bkue due to the high temperature of this star. It gets reddened due to the fact that it is behind a layer of stellar dust or glactic dust, I do not know the correct name.
I asked AI to de-redden it and the following came out.

I guess Ai did not use the correct E(B-V) value. I have read that WR 124 has the value of 1.04. Sorry.

Hi,
I have had a few clear nights and so I thought to image the M 1-67 nebula with the WR 124 in its center.
Attached an image of an area 3.4 arcminutes square. The nebula is about 95 arcseconds in diameter what I have measured. My imaging scale is 0.245" arcseconds per pixel. Takahashi Mewlon 250S at 3200mm focal length using an ASI 1600MM Pro. Total LRGB exposure time is 2 hours and 50 minutes. Maybe an image in NB Ha OIII and SII would give more details?
I thought it might be interesting.

I was wondering what would be depicted when shooting a series of Narrowband filter images on the WR 124 nebula eg. M 1-67.
Below some images of a HOS stack and every filter single in B&W.
Normally we get a lot of Oxygen in nebulas but in this case we get a lot in the H alpha filter, nearly nothing in the OIII filter and a bit in the S II filter. My filters are 12nm or 120Å bandwidth.

Yesterday 2.5 hours of stacked exposure time of the nebula M 1-67. Approx. 15" arc seconds away from the WR 124.

Below the result.

Hi Rainer,

This looks like a pretty fun project.

I would advise against using AI to deredden the data. For AVSpec, we prefer for the data to have wavelength calibration and instrumental response function correction only. Reddening is a continually evolving field and we think it best to allow professional astronomers to apply this correction as they choose.

Kind regards,
Brian

Thanks Brian. I understand. It just came up after commenting this to another spectrographer. Also it was curiosity.
Lately I just apply an instrument response correction and label it.
I have been using AI to label the emission/absorption lines in case RSpec does not have those elements listed. I hope using AI for this is OK. ¿?

Rainer,

Why haven’t you uploaded your spectra to AVSpec? Our database does not have a single spectrum of these stars.

Cheers!

Because my spectra are not good enough to be uploaded to AVSpec. Sorry, need to get better.
