Which filters for T CrB UBVRI please prioritize

I have J/C UBVRI classic filters and am new to photometry.

Should T CrB suddenly blow what filter should be my first priority?

I also have Ha 3nm but it’s in a different FW.

Thanks

First priority should be “V”. If that’s all you can do, that’s fine.

Second on the list, I think, would be “B”. After that, your choice, though I’d put “U” at the bottom of the list.

Everybody and their kid brother is observing in V. I suggest U, B and Ha. First make sure you can obtain decent SNR in U and Ha light curves. My friend has been having trouble getting anything with SU on an 11" Edge with a 533 sensor. Since novas are high energy/temperature events there will be a lot going in U and B. The temperature increase should affect Ha line strength which you might see in the light curve. If U and Ha are too challenging then B or go for color with B and V. Watch the AAVSO video on T CrB and note that observing just before she ‘blows’ is also important. -Jesse
