I have been posting some time series to the EV Lac light curve and I am finding that Vphot is reporting the uncertainty related to the SNR calculation rather than the STD uncertainty. Is there a way to have Vphot report the STD instead? For instance Vphot reports an uncertainty of 0.004 when the STD was 0.011
Thanks,
Rick (LRIB)
Rick:
I assume you are only using one comp. That only permits an error to be calculated from ~ 1/SNR, since the STD would be divided by 0 (n-1).
You could edit your AEFF report with the STD if you really want to.

Yes, I am using only one comp star, 99, recently for the EV Lac observations after reading in the groups forum that we would use 99 as the comp and 116 as the check. (always used ensembles before) I imagine that another person looking at the data could see it was handled by Vphot with just one comp and would know that. Live and learn!
Thanks, Ken.
