I have found that a couple of my photometric observations of SN 2025rbs had combined the galaxy core with the Supernova, so the supernova was recorded brighter than it actually was. Is there a way to change this older observation? I’ve redone the measurement in VPhot by changing the position of the Annulus, and to separate the Supernova and the Core, and it worked! But found that I was locked out from making edits to this older observation, unless I was in the wrong tool?
I did try to send a message through the messaging form, and it was not accepted as it “looked like spam” and would not send my message. Can someone help?
I found a problem with photometry of a target from several years ago. The new upload tool would not allow me to delete them. (Looks like a time limit on how far back such modifications can occur?) I sent a note to HQS requesting that the offending data be deleted, but I’ve not heard back from them yet. Best regards. Mike
If you go under “global Search” and you are logged into your account there should be a tab called “My Observations” where you can search for and delete observations.
Never had any problems removing old gross errors then updating with a new upload in the classical way, but usually at most would only go back a month or two.
I haven’t tried it on ancient, originally key-punched in by HQ, observations!
I’ve had the same problem with two of my older observations. The new website wouldn’t allow me to edit them, so I entered the correct values as new observations for those JD’s (it allowed me to do that) but then I wasn’t able to delete the erroneous ones. Bert Pablo informed me that locking us out of editing or deleting older observations in the new website was a deliberate policy choice at HQ (I didn’t understand any plausible rationale for that). He promised to delete the two if I would send him the details, which I did, but they still hadn’t been deleted the last time I checked.
Several months ago I tried submitting new observations for dates going back several years. I received an error that observations older than one year are not allowed. I have many such observations that I would like to be able to submit over the next year or so.
