If anyone is particularly interested in RCB type variables you might want to check out SU Tau, as it is apparently starting to fade. It’s been holding fairly steady at around magnitude 9.9 (V) for quite a while and has declined steadily down to about 10.5 over the past week or so. I had it at 10.561 (TG) last night. It will be interesting to see if this turns out to be a deep decline or only a shallow one.
I have added it to my observing program remotely from Chile.

Franz, thank you, seasonably
I think it goes deep. I got 11.2 a few hours ago, B and I also down significantly. My measruement from Feb 18 was 10.5.
This is pretty much aligned with the previous three declines 2019, 2021, 2023, all March-April.
Yes, it looks like it’s going to be a deep minimum. When it has a shallow drop it seems like it bounces back by around magnitude 11 at the faintest but it shows no signs of that right now.
Thanks for the notice on its decline, Brian! Visual observation: 11.7 at 2025/02/27/03/00.
It looks like SU Tau may have bottomed out and started to recover, at least if the last two night’s observations from myself and observer DUBF are correct…
