Hi all,
it is more than one year I own two starex in HR and I’m quite happy of them.
My problem: placing calibration lamp in front of scope is not a reliable solution in HR spectra; moving or rotating the calibration lamp support may lead to ~1Å shift in lamda near Halpha. I tried with 1 to 4 lamps, at various distences from optical center and various rotation angles: I don’t fill the bill (my scopes are C11 and GSO 8"RC so I can’t get the true optical center). Now my idea is to put the calibration lamp inside the guidin cube: a sevo motor will move the lamp in the optical center or out of otical path. See figures. This is only a preliminary idea, but coul be ok? Do you see disadvantages or poits it should not operate properly?
Electronics, support and other stuffs not represented.
Cheers

If budget is not a problem you could also get the Alpy 600 calibration module and put it in front of the guiding module.
