The July meeting of the SSIG will be tomorrow at the usual time. There is no presentation on the agenda, so we’ll have time after the above updates for open discussion. If there is time I have a question about using a response star for three band analysis . I am shooting TCrB at R=4000 manually moving the grating to capture 3800-7000 in three bands. and wondering why the band edges for each don’t line up in magnitude after compensating each on the same response star.

Here is a link to the FlexSpec 1 which I mentioned at last night’s meeting. In addition to the documentation, there were also several papers about it in the 2024 and 2025 Society for Astronomical Sciences meetings. Its calibration module is the “Kzin Ring.”
The other spectrograph I referenced was the “Nou T2”. This is the second generation of the Nou-T echelle spectrographs which are a DIY type of device. There is a wonderful write up on the Nou-T on François Tessier’s website. I’m not sure were to get the plans for this device, but that may be discussed in the 2026 SAS proceedings on page 38. The updated Kzin ring is discussed on page 30 of that same proceeding.
