Our next monthly SSIG meeting is this Wed at 5pm MDT, 7pm EDT, 2300UTC. Meeting agenda and Zoom link is here: 1a. Monthly Meetings - Monthly Meeting Agenda - Google Docs
Note that most of the US is now on Daylight Saving Time, so the UTC time shifts from 0000 UTC to 2300 UTC. For those in the US not observing DST (e.g. Arizona), the meeting time will be 1 hour earlier than before.
We have a lot to cover in this meeting. Stefan Uttenthaler will talk with us about a spectroscopic observing campaign in which he would like engagement from our SSIG members. Then Brian Kloppenborg is seeking volunteers to help moderate spectra and will take a few minutes on that topic. Next Matt Boerlage will update us on his SSIG Target of the Quarter program. SSIG member Jean-Bruno Desrosiers will give his presentation on “Spectral Monitoring of NGC 2261 and R Mon”. After that I would like to get member feedback on a possible change in the meeting day and time. Finally, I will update the group on progress on the AAVSO net robotic telescope dedicated to spectroscopy.
See you this Wednesday.
