The Smart Telescope Working Group has a need for one or two Seestar images where the RA=0 “prime meridian” runs through the image. We need this for testing that our software correctly handles those images. It doesn’t really matter where along that line you point your scope (we can work with anything), but I happen to know that the variable SV And is a good target star for this (even though a lot of the time it’s too faint for a Seestar). All we need is an image where some of the stars have RA values a little above 0 and some of the stars have RA values of 359.xxx. Right now you need to wait until shortly before sunrise to pick up that area of the sky.
Let me know if you’ve already got some images like this in your archive, or if you’re able to get one for us. (If only I had thought of this 6 months ago, it would have been a whole lot easier.)
Thanks!
