I have a recent spec of 12 Vul. Can someone please tell me the cause of the wide absorption feature at 6677 Angstrom?
OK - says “new users can add attachments” Great. So while I figure-out how to log-in to this new system, maybe someone knows the answer.
Thanks
Bob

This is the spec I really wanted to show.
Went to the Star’Ex group for help. It’s the He I line at 6678 Ang.

The absorption feature at 6678 is Helium. It is characteristically broad in Be stars that are rotating rapidly such as 12 Vul, which has an apparent rotational velocity of 195 km/s.
