First of all, I want to express my sincere appreciation to all the volunteers and reviewers for your incredible dedication and work.
I recently submitted a few new variable star candidates to the VSX that I identified using photometric software. Because of this, I was just wondering, strictly out of curiosity, what the typical wait time is for a review?
I know you are all volunteers taking time out of your day to do this, so please know there is absolutely no rush on my end.

thanks for your kind words.
Actually, moderation is mostly a one staff member task at this time, so reviewing submissions may take several weeks if the queue grows too long, which is the case now.
We are receiving lots of submissions by new people and they have too many problems. Also the use of AI without properly completing the VSX fields as specified in our supporting material available online is causing a lot of delays.
I take the chance to post here the relevant links for people who want to submit but do not have previous experience:

In the future version of VSX we are going to implement some changes in order to prevent faulty submissions to get through.
There will be mandatory fields and a much robust set of filters that won’t allow submissions to get through under some conditions.
We are also thinking of implementing a kind of “VSX playground” where people can get trained before they can submit for the first time.
The most problematic thing I am finding is how people are using the remarks field to justify everything that they did, usually using AI, which is something not relevant to the public entry, and if the results and the interpreation of the data are wrong (which is the case most of the time), it is just a waste of time.
Remarks are only meant to show information about the star or the photometry that couldn’t be accomodated in the form fields.
One of the best ways to correctly fill the submission forms is to take a look at some approved stars, so you know how a typical submission by an individual looks like.

About your stars, I haven’t got to them yet, it will take a a couple of weeks for that to happen.
And my advice is that new contributors just submit one star not several when they are doing their first try, because if things are wrong, the same mistake will be made in all the submissions and it will take longer to explain and correct.
