Dear Colleagues,
although the Be star 28 Tau (Pleione) is currently once again visible nearly pole-on (i ~ 60°) due to its 34-year periodicity, another periastron passage of its companion is expected in November 2025.
In this context, the star’s radial velocity outside the so-called “active shell phase” is of particular importance. We therefore kindly request as intensive spectroscopic observations as possible (R = at least 10,000 or higher).
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email.
