Observation Source Read Error

Hi,

I´m getting an “Unable to obtain information for R Lyr” error message. This happens with whichever target I choose. I have tried several stars in the 10-Star and 11-Star Tutorials, as well as several stars of my own, deposited in AID.
I´m using VStar 2.25.0. The same issue occurs in Windows 11 and macOS High Sierra (I have an old iMac). Also with VStar 2.24.0.

Is it a VStar issue or a temporary problem with the AAVSO database?

Please advise.

This was a temporary issue at the server end.

Greetings,

To elaborate slightly on David’s comment, the AAVSO experienced a DDoS last week and over the weekend that necessitated we put in place some mitigation measures to keep things running. Unfortunately, VStar got caught up in the mix.

We’ve resolved the issue for now. We sincerely appreciate David’s work to keep VStar in sync with AAVSO’s infrastructure as it evolves.
