NGC 7790 : determine color and extinction coefficients

I had hoped to calculate myself some color and extinction coefficients using the stars from NGC 7790 into my python scripts.

I had hoped there would be a sequence with a lot of them in that open cluster, but that seems not to be the case.

As can be seen on these maps :

and :

I can of course use the colors from GAIA releases, but had hoped for a list of certified color magnitudes.

Any thoughts and/or help ?

Pieter.

Below is the link to the standard field chart for NGC-7790.
Go to the link then select “Photometry table for this chart” and all the colors that are available will be listed.

From time to time there have been issues with going directly to the standard fields page.

In that case if the VSP is used there are a couple of things that need to be done.

Do not enter anything in the first field of the form “What is the name …”, but do enter the coordinates in the next boxes.

You would need to choose an appropriate field size and mag limit.

Finally, near the bottom of the form, click the “Standard Field” button.

See the screenshots for what the relevant parts of the form looks like.

Hmmm… yes that works, perhaps useful to get other FOVs from the standard default 20’ FOV provided but I’m afraid that the stars that are plotted up aren’t all “standard stars”. I get many other stars.

Thanx for the guidelines.
I got my stars.

Now some time to do the calculations.
