Hello, I’m new to AAVSO. I’ve been working on exoplanet transit light curves with missions like TESS through citizen-science platforms. The next step is learning to perform proper photometry and understand the complete observational workflow.
My goal is to eventually contribute real photometric data and learn the methods of observational astronomers.
Could anyone recommend:
• beginner resources for photometry
• which software I should start with - AstroImageJ, VPhot etc.
• or a mentor who can guide me as I get started? Thanks a lot.
