I just ran into this neat Osram product ams AS7343 Spectral Sensor Ambient light, Color, Spectral & Proximity Sensors | ams OSRAM

Built into a board it can be found here: SparkFun Spectral Sensor - AS7343 (Qwiic) - SparkFun Electronics

Now if they would only cool it, maybe then it could be useful for something.

They are fun to play with.
I have an old Arduino one laying around somewhere.
Software downloadable.
I used it to crudely scan BVI filters before I got the spectrophotometer.
Waiting for a 500 channel version.
Fun for the tinkerers among us.
