Is Sequence Team still active

Is the sequence team still active? Whenever I submit a request for a sequence I usually get results in a few days and never more than a week. I submitted a request on Feb 10th for VZ CVn and Feb 26 for TX Cnc and no results yet. Not sure if it will help to resubmit the requests?

Hi Barbara,

That is quite odd. I’ll ask Bert or Elizabeth to check with the sequence team to see what the delay is.

Brian

Hello Barbara,

Can I ask how you asked for sequences. I get all the requests that go to compstars@aavso.org (though I don’t actually handle the requests) and I don’t see anything from you or any requests for stars on Feb 10th or Feb. 26th that match the stars mentioned. It is possible, we didn’t get them, but maybe I’m not looking in the right place.

Thanks,
Bert Pablo

Hi Barbara,
I think there has been some problem with the ‘compstars@aavso.org’ address recently. For some reason the sequence team has not been receiving them. Bert and I are puzzling out what the problem is, because it seems that whilst I personally have been getting requests (although I didn’t see yours) other team members have not.
However, I shall have a go at your TX Cnc 25’ request now!

OK, good news and bad news!
Good news, there is a sequence.
Bad news, only 2 stars in it, 105 and 107! Do you still want to go ahead? There are several confirmed or suspected variables nearby.

Those 2 are fine. They were not here when I requested them so maybe someone on the team completed the request without notifying me or marking it as complete on the CHET page. VZ CVn still incomplete.

Request made via the CHET page on the website

OK Barbara, update. I have now done VZ CVn. Not the best sequence (but this is star-poor CVn after all!) but at least this time there are 3 comp stars rather than 2.
