I thought some forum members might be interested in an online course offered by Boyce Astro. I’m cross-posting this from the Community section here.
The course is entitled “BAROSpection - Introduction to Spectroscopy.” Don’t let the title stop you from checking it out.
It covers a lot of science and is also a great introduction to using Python for astronomical computing. At the end of the course, you’ll select a target to capture using Boyce Astro’s remote CDK17 telescope and Star Analyser.
The cost is $29.95 (sliding scale) to cover shared computing resources and other miscellaneous costs.
Check out the curriculum here: https://drunarayan.github.io/barospection/. The 8-session course (which I don’t teach) is entirely remote and starts later this month. There are still places available — add yourself to the “wait list” there if you’re interested.
