Just run obs for AG Dra through TA as usual and noticed error message:
“VSX returned invalid data: [json.exception.parse_error.101] parse error at line 1, column 1: attempting to parse an empty input; check that your input string or stream contains the expected JSON target not in VSX.”
What does it mean? Do I need to re-process obs?
I don’t have an answer for you, but I am also receiving this same error.
Hi,
Vphot download data from VSX so the error looks related to a temporary issue on VSX.
I just run a transformation for AG DRA observations and the TA ran smoothly, please retry
I ran the transformation on a group of files. Half of them came back with the error. So I tried running the transformation on individual files. They each came back with the error. Still not working.
Getting same error message on different target BF Cyg.
Nervous about uploading these obs until I’m told this is safe to ignore.
Getting same error message on all uploads from TA processed files.
I had a time series on RS BOO. I unchecked the aggregate box and the transform ran without error. l then reloaded my LPV files that were returning the VSX error. I checked the aggregate box for those files. The transform ran without error. I’m not sure if that solves the problem, but it solved my problem. Now I’m having issues downloading files from VPhot. I’ll try again another day.
My aggregate box is never ticked and I usually only transform one B and one V image. AAVSO is encouraging observers to transform but do I revert to untransformed uploads. Lots of observations queueing up now.
Kevin:
Have you tried 2 color transform? That tool was the original transform tool in VPhot. Fine if you want to transform just a pair of images (e.g., 1B and 1V).
Share a few of your images that fail to MZK and I’ll take a look.
Ken
Thanks for looking Ken,
I just ran through old obs that worked fine with no error message previously. They show it now, so i think it’s happening on all images. I’ll share some
I’ve shared AM Her and CI Cyg B and V which both transformed with no error message yesterday. Today they don’t
I’m having problems as well over the past few days. I have been able to transform my observations but the Transform applier has been buggy. Sometimes it aggregates, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it accepts the data, sometimes it indicates there’s a JSON and/or VSX error. I’ve been able to work around this by logging out and back into VPhot a few times.
Also got the json/VSX error here.
It’s still doing strange things. I just ran a target through TA and no VSX error, ran a different target and error present so I went back to first target and WIERD the error was there. I’m going to carry on uploading as I have a large backlog now.
QUICK UPDATE. I logged out of VPhot and logged back in. Ran it again and NO ERROR.
It seems that logging out of VPHot and back in solves the problem. Famous advice from the IT dept.“Have you tried turning it off and on again”
My optimism of yesterday has evaporated. First transformation worked fine then all the rest returned infamous VSX error. Tried logging in and out and error message persists.
